Barcelona-based designers Alex Trochut & Xavier Mañosa conjured up a series of “Skateboard Fails”. Where the boards may fail in function, they excel in form. The bumpy, melty and exploded boards are made of ceramic with an average size of 15 inches. Skate Fails was done as a project for Apparatu. The premise of sculptural beauty in these broken objects reminds me a bit of Jeremy Hutchison’s Art of the Factory Error.
